There will be a float building session this Saturday, December 22, 2008 for those of you that are still in town. We need some help with the fun stuff, painting. Also, be thinking about your costumes and share your ideas with the group. Special thanks to our float rangers;Brett, Aaron, Erin, Trixie, David, Jorge, Leo, Tiffany, and anyone I missed because I wasn’t there myself.
The fun starts at noon on Saturday, the 22nd. I think Brett will have a special surprise if you show up.
Calling all who are interested in helping with the float. We will be meeting at the den Saturday at 10:30 to move the float and clean behind the float to get ready for the “brew to do. doobie and cow poo “party. The float design will be discussed. A schedule for construction will will be set as well.
Please help…Parade day will be here before we know it.

Greetings LEWDers,
As you may know by now, we’re having a Pre-LEWD party on Saturday September 8th at our house on 219 S. Clark St. Please bring your swim suits and your favorite beverages. There will be music by the High Ground Drifters and special guests. We’re also in the process of determining the overall KDV theme for 2008. Please submit your suggestions via e-mail to Jennifer our myself. Some examples include “KDV Covers it ASSets”, “KDV Don’t Do Dick”, etc… I know you have some creative ideas so get them in.
Peace,
Jared
We need to start thinking about the future of LEWD…Carnival is 6 months away.
Happy Summer!
Greetings,
I hope everyone has recovered at this point. What a year? LEWD has gone through a monumental shift over the last two years. Regretfully, our memberships sell out very quickly these days however things seem to work out for better or worst. This has been a new experience for some of you. How was it? Other veterans have been involved for many years. I’m curious as to how you feel about LEWD these days as well as the MotherKrewe. You know, KDV turned 21 this year and some say its time to grow up. Whattaya think about that?
This web-site was created to express your ideas and concerns regarding the future of LEWD. Please feel free to express yourself openly. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of Mardi Gras 2007 and ya’ll come back now, ya’ hear. Follow the link on the right side of this page for 2007 parade pictures. Warning! You must be 18 to view these pictures.
LEWD rolls through the streets of New Orleans on Saturday, February 3rd at 7:00 pm. The parade starts on the corner of Decateur and Port in the Marigny and ends up at the former State Palace Theatre on Canal St., corner of Rampart. Be on the lookout for this years PTSD stickers, KDV nickels, and other goodies.Â
The pre-parade party starts at the den around 5. It’s “Carnival Time” ya’ll!!!
Our float has taken on a life of its own. It all started when Gallivan, Dot, Joe, and myself, four handicapped carpenters, decided to deconstruct the existing model. I could sense the fear and uncertainty amongst the group. Little did any of us know, Brett and Randy would lead us into temptation. That’s right, our new float is bigger, better, and safer. Captain Jennifer’s vision is becoming a reality.
Hail Jorge, Regan, Bettina, Abby, Owen, Laura, Shane, Merrie, Dylan, Jenel, Tiffany, and Leo. What a fine group of Jewish carpenters. Keep it going!
Greetings LEWDers,
We have begun the deconstruction and reconstruction of the 2007 float. We’re going back to the basics. Look for the Le Monde du Merde article addressing our theme for float and costume ideas.
LEWD looks for signs of recovery throughout the French Quarter on February 3rd, 2007.
We need a volunteer for band liason, anyone?
Lewdites,
We’re completely sold out of memberships for 2007 season. If your check has not been deposited, chances are that you aren’t going to get a membership. We’re sorry! We wish that we could make everyone happy but as we’ve mentioned in the past, things are pretty competitive these days.
LEWD takes third place at the KDV annual Brewe DOO. Foley’s fresh young mALE was fresh and frothy thanks to Mr. Peter Kadoo. Peter is the former brewmaster of New Orleans own Dixie Brewery. Thanks Peter!!!
OK…lets start working on our theme. Once again, “Habitat for Insanity” is the overall theme for the Mother Krewe.
LEWDers,
Please get your money in quickly if you plan on joining the krewe for 2007 parade. This is very competitive and memberships are assigned on a first come first serve basis. Once they’re gone…they’re gone.
Hot off the press…Habitat for Insanity is the 2007 Krewe Du Vieux theme. Our king will be Chris Rose.
LEWDers,
Join the Mother Krewe on Friday October 13th at the Howlin Wolf for our annual Brewe Doo. Several of the sub-krewes will be brewing some tasty beer. LEWD will be participating in the Brewing contest, compliments of Peter Kadoo. The tasty ale needs a name. Help us out.
Tickets are 10 bucks and can be purchased at the door. This price includes beer tasting until the taps run dry. Music by Sunpie Barnes and Saaraba. Doors open at 8 pm.
Thanks for everyone who attended…special thanks to the High Ground Drifters. It appears that LEWD will have some very creative members on board this year. Please, send us any photo’s from years past.
What is LEWD?
